Meet The Team

Founder & Instructor
Emily Cornelissen
I founded Island Pilates in 2021, having been teaching in Cheshire for three years. After relocating to Anglesey, I fulfilled a long-held dream of opening my own studio — proudly becoming the first reformer Pilates studio on the island.
I recognised a gap in the market across Anglesey and North Wales for a unique, cosy, and welcoming space to teach classes. My aim was to create an environment accessible to all ages and abilities, where people could build strength without the pressure or intimidation of a busy gym.
Since opening, it has allowed me to build a genuine community of clients who are passionate about Pilates, committed to looking after themselves, and focused on developing strong, resilient, and injury-resistant bodies.

Instructor
Helen Williams
Helen has been practising Pilates for over 18 years, gaining a deep appreciation for the strength, mobility, and overall wellbeing that low-impact exercise can bring. Qualified for two years in both mat and reformer Pilates, she continues to develop her expertise, with ongoing CPD playing an important role in her teaching.
Helen is also pre- and post-natal qualified and works with a wide range of abilities, ensuring that everyone can benefit from her classes. She supports clients to progress at their own pace while providing clear guidance, regular feedback, and opportunities to build confidence and technique.
In addition to teaching Sculpt, Strength, and a variety of other classes, Helen also enjoys working with younger clients through her Teen classes. Her friendly and encouraging approach creates sessions that are both focused and enjoyable.
Helen teaches in both Welsh and English and is based in Four Mile Bridge and Menai Bridge. She genuinely enjoys her work and is passionate about helping clients feel stronger, more capable, and supported in their Pilates journey.

Instructor
Daisy Alexander
Daisy has a background in dance and yoga, but started attending regular pilates classes in 2006 whilst working as a junior lawyer and found it helped her chronic back pain & postural awareness enormously. She went on to complete her mat pilates teaching qualifications in Singapore in 2012, and reformer qualifications in 2014 whilst pregnant with her second child. Following a move back to the UK and the birth of 2 more children, Daisy is excited to be teaching again with the great team at Island Pilates

Instructor
Sioned Wright
I’ve always been passionate about health and fitness, earning a degree in Sports, Health and Physical Education in 2007 alongside a Level 3 gym instructor qualification. While training as a Dental Hygienist in Bristol, I discovered Reformer Pilates and immediately fell in love with it. I later qualified as a yoga instructor, having practiced since age 14.
After stepping back from clinical work to teach Dental Hygiene and focus on family life, I decided to pursue my passion fully. I now teach Pilates and am working towards a Level 4 Master Practitioner qualification, covering advanced Pilates, Reformer, pre- and post-natal, and orthopaedic conditions.

Instructor
Pheobe Reynolds
A self-proclaimed drama queen, tea lover, and chatterbox with a passion for movement. I trained in Music Theatre at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where I developed a deep appreciation for the mind-body connection, balance, and injury prevention. After a whirlwind year of marriage and travel, I returned to the UK having discovered Reformer Pilates in Australia—and I’ve been hooked ever since. I truly believe Pilates is for every body and love sharing the physical and mental benefits it brings. I’m committed to delivering high-quality, informed classes, having trained with The Bodhi Project in classical Reformer techniques, alongside certifications in pre- and postnatal movement, and I’m currently completing my Personal Trainer qualification to further support functional strength. My classes blend classical Pilates with contemporary, strength-based sequences in a fun, upbeat environment, aiming to empower you, challenge you, and create a supportive community every time you step into the studio—I can’t wait to see you there!

Instructor
Toria Hope
I’m so excited to be starting my journey as a Level 3 Mat and Reformer pilates instructor. Pilates has been a huge part of my life for over six years through my own personal practice, and I’ve truly fallen in love with it.
I also made sure to keep up my personal practice while pregnant and during my post partumn period, which has given me a deeper, more personal understanding of how powerful movement can be during these stages. Looking ahead, I’m passionate about continuing my education to specialise in pre and postnatal Pilates, so I can support other women in enjoying safe, effective movement throughout every stage of pregnancy and their postpartum journey.
Before this, I worked in event management and marketing, which means I naturally enjoy meeting new people and bringing creativity into everything I do, something I’m really looking forward to incorporating into my class plans.
As a proud Anglesey local, I live here with my husband, baby boy and our spaniel, Woody. I’m especially excited to become part of the Island Pilates community, having attended classes since the early days in Menai Bridge memorial Hall.
I can’t wait to meet you all, have fun and fully immerse myself in teaching!
